Workspace and competitors

A workspace binds your account to one primary website domain and stores scan configuration, pipeline state, and competitor domains.

Set during onboarding (/onboarding/start). The primary domain is:

  • The default target for core scans
  • The anchor for scorecards on Site and SEO pages
  • The domain attached to keyword research projects

You cannot change the primary domain casually from the UI after onboarding — contact support if you need to migrate workspaces.

Track up to five competitor domains for benchmark views:

  • Google SERP Ranks — compare organic visibility and rank positions
  • Backlinks — compare backlink counts and profile metrics

Configure competitors in the Competitor domains panel on those pages. Enter bare domains or URLs; the console normalizes them.

Each competitor triggers additional pipeline work when SERP or backlink scans run — plan competitor count against your usage needs.

The console stores workspace state server-side. Your browser keeps a workspace ID in local storage for fast reloads. Signing in on a new device loads the same workspace via GET /workspaces/me.

Workspace records hold:

  • Primary domain
  • Competitor domain list (max 5)
  • Scan and onboarding status
  • Optional tags (e.g. tech stack suggestions)
