Run research
Run research on a keyword project triggers the full keyword hub pipeline: keyword metrics sync, live SERP collection with result capture, and background post-processing for clusters and semantic similar keywords.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Signed-in session with valid refresh token
- Project with optional seed keywords saved
- Accept Skippr EULA at signup (required for background processing)
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”- Open your project (
/keyword-research/:projectId). - Optionally edit Seeds & competitors — enter one seed keyword per line and click Save seeds.
- Click Run research.
- Watch the project header:
- Pipeline status moves from idle → running → complete (or error)
- Post-process status appears after SERP sync — wait until complete
- Stay signed in until post-process finishes. The UI notes this under the Run button.
- When post-process completes, open Explore results tabs and refresh if needed.
What the run includes
Section titled “What the run includes”A full run queues:
- Keyword suggestion and metrics expansion (subject to run limits)
- Allintitle / KGR-related collection when enabled
- Live SERP capture for rank and preview data
- Background processing to build clusters and embedding index for vector similar keywords
Default run limits (e.g. max generated keywords and queries per run) cap cost and runtime. Large sites may need multiple runs with different seeds.
If something fails
Section titled “If something fails”| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| Post-process auth error | Sign out, sign in, run again |
| Pipeline error | Check active scans panel; retry run |
| Empty clusters | Confirm metrics/SERP data exists for your domain; verify seeds |
| Stuck running | Refresh page; check WebSocket badge is open |
- Run research during an active session — do not close the browser immediately after clicking Run if post-process is pending.
- Similar vector search is only available after post-process completes successfully.
